Rubens Barrichello clinched the overall victory in Sunday's International Challenge of Go-Kart Champions after beating the man who wants his Honda race-seat, Lucas di Grassi.

With a crowd of 12,000 spectators looking on, Barrichello claimed the victory in the first of the two races at the Ingleses kart track in Florianopolis.

The Brazilian held off the charging di Grassi while his former Ferrari team-mate Michael Schumacher lost out on a podium finish when he spun out.

Race Two went to Felipe Massa, who organises and hosts the charity event, however, Barrichello's fifth-placed finish ensured that he took the overall win by one point over di Grassi.

Schumacher, who won last year's event, could only manage eighth overall.
