Jenson Button insists he's not at all fazed about Sir Jackie Stewart's fears that his move to McLaren will "be like walking into the lions' den."
Just a month after winning the Drivers' Championship title with Brawn GP, Button confirmed he will be off to McLaren next season after signing a three-year contract with the Woking team.
The Brit's decision has been questioned by some F1 personalities with Sir Jackie saying he fears Button is making a "mistake", adding that it "will be difficult for him to take on Lewis Hamilton."
Button, though, insists that while his values Stewart's opinion, he believe he's up to the challenge.
"Jackie is always outspoken," Button told the Daily Mail. "I get on very well with him and it is always interesting to hear his comments.
"But, at the end of the day, I know the environment in both areas and I know what I want to do and I want a new challenge. If Jackie was racing I am sure he would feel the same."

"Jenson probably thought he had only one chance in his career to work with a 'top team' (Honda was never that although 2004 wasn't bad). I don't blame him but we shall know by the end of 2010 whether he is good or really good depending upon the Hamilton effect! "

"Amen to tonto...Everyone has been second-guessing Button's move to McLaren, and yet Jenson himsrlf os no fool. He's been around in F1 for nine years now and is a veteran who has paid his dues. The WDC was a just reward for his loyalty to Honad and then Brawn GP, and since he likely knew before the end of this past season that Mercedes was going to be stepping in and taking over the Brawn GP team, he opted to give one of the most experienced and successful teams a try for 2010. If he had chosen to move to a team such as Force India foe 2010, I'd be concerned, but how can anyone fault his decision to join a team that has one eight WCC's in it's history??? Go, Jenson, Go!!!"
