De la Rosa in no rush to decide his future

Pedro de la Rosa insists he's in "no hurry" to pick a team for next year's Championship although he definitely wants to return to racing.

The McLaren test driver has been linked to both Campos Meta and USF1 in recent weeks, the latter coming to the fore after the team announced that their European base would be situated in Spain.

And although de la Rosa says he is happy staying on as a McLaren, the Spaniard's main aim for 2010 is to return to racing.

"It's still early," he told the EFE news agency.

"There's no hurry to make a decision. It's true that USF1 and Motorland reached a deal to have its European logistic base in Alcaniz. The important thing is that the project materialised.

"I don't know what will happen after that. I don't know what team I will drive for or in what capacity.

"I can happily stay at McLaren as a reserve driver, and I could do that while racing for another team, or just race for another team. I don't know, that's the answer.

"There are options, and whatever I do, people has to be clear that I'm trying everything I can to return to racing in F1."

"The only way i think Pedro could possibly race again is if a new team signed him on a short contract ONLY because hes got the experience to set the car up.Hes no spring chicken and unlike Rubens hes not a race winner(infact far from it)."

"No rush eh,guess that typifies Pedro's career story in F1's slow lane,as in just making up the numbers.Pedro's possible inclusion on the 2010 grid is not good news for the show in general,very mediocre.Surely there's younger,more talented drivers out there who aren't in the twilight of their careers."
