Alguersuari's people 'surprised' by omission

Tuesday 1st December 2009

Jaime Alguersuari's management team have revealed that they were surprised when the Spaniard's name did not appear on the FIA's 2010 entry list.

Alguersuari, who was called up by Toro Rosso to replaced the ousted Seb Bourdais during this past year's Championship, recently insisted that he has a contract for 2010.

"We signed a deal a few months ago," the Spaniard told Marca.

However, earlier this week, when the FIA released the 2010 entry list, Alguersuari's name did not appear on the list. Instead, where Toro Rosso's second driver's name should be listed it read 'TBA'.

And his management are rather surprised.

"Jaime's contract has been signed and renewed for next season so this is very surprising news," AP claims Alguersuari's people said in a statement.

"Jaime is, as we speak, undergoing physical and psychological training with the Red Bull team in Austria in preparation for the upcoming season."
