Webber: This stuff wouldn't happen in England

Mark Webber has hit out at the organisers of the Turkish GP after a stray on the track during the GP2 race almost ended in disaster.

Halfway through the GP2 sprint race on Sunday morning two stray dogs were seen running on the track.

One of the dogs was hit by Bruno Senna, the impact destroying the right front suspension off his car and killing the animal.

The Safety Car was immediately brought out as drivers waited for the second dog to leave the track.

The incident has angered Webber, a member of the Grand Prix Drivers Association, as it could have led to disaster for Senna, the nephew of the late Ayrton Senna.

"Obviously it's turned out to be horrible for the dog, and it could have been horrible for Senna as well," Webber told SpeedTV.

"We had two dogs in two different parts of the circuit. I appreciate that it's a massive venue, but it needs to have control of all the boundaries. It's very, very dangerous.

"These countries need to learn - this stuff wouldn't happen in England or somewhere."
