McLaren's Italian meeting delayed

Saturday 16th February 2008

Ron Dennis and Martin Whitmarsh's meeting with an Italian prosecutor investigating the Stepneygate spy scandal has been postponed, according to reports.

Dennis, Whitmarsh and other McLaren personnel were set to meet Italian prosecutor Giuseppe Tibis on Monday as part of a legal investigation into the spy scandal.

However, Reuters is now reporting that the meeting has been postponed.

Asked about the meeting, Tibis's secretary said: "They are not coming," adding that no date has been scheduled for another meeting.

Tibis is investigating the spy scandal that rocked the F1 fraternity last season. Although the FIA has laid the matter to rest following McLaren's public apology, the legal issues in Italy continue.
