Felipe Massa let his driving to do the talking as he silenced his critics with an impressive performance in Sunday's Bahrain GP.
The Brazilian, who lost out on pole on Saturday by 0.027s, took the lead at the start and held onto it all the way through the race.
It was an important result for Massa, who had come under fire after fail to finish either of the opening two grands prix of the season.
"He was under pressure and yeah he was slagged off," admitted his race engineer Rob Smedley.
"But in the end he's done what he was supposed to do and let his driving do the talking."
Massa spent a large part of the race trading fastest times for fastest times with his World Champion team-mate Kimi Raikkonen. However, Smedley says at no stage did the Brazilian's crew worry that Raikkonen could beat them.
"In the end we knew we had more fuel and were in the front," he said.
