With the BMW era now firmly consigned to history, Peter Sauber's battle-hardened Hinwil operation continue their perennial quest for survival in Formula 1's ever-competitive midfield.
Sauber had arguably their best season ever in Formula One in 2012 when Sergio Perez, who brought with him major sponsorship from Mexico's Telmex group, raced to three podium finishes while Kamui Kobayashi achieved one.
It was an impressive showing in a car that Sauber billed as "the best car we have had since entering F1."
The duo put the team sixth in the Championship with 126 points.
However, Perez's performances saw him moving on to McLaren while Kobayashi's single podium in Japan was not enough to secure his future.
As such Sauber will begin the 2013 season with an all-new line-up of Nico Hulkenberg and Esteban Gutierrez.
One billed as a star of the future and the other carrying the backing from Telmex, the question remains as to whether this season will be another leap forward for Sauber.
